Travel Review

Mastering Travel and Wayfinding in Italian

Welcome to your A2 travel review! When exploring Italy, knowing how to ask for directions, buy tickets, and solve unexpected problems is essential. In this lesson, we will review key travel vocabulary and practical sentence patterns.

Asking for Directions

When you are lost, polite phrases open doors. Always start with a friendly greeting or Scusi (Excuse me).

  • Dov'è...? – Where is...?
  • È lontano? – Is it far?
  • Giri a sinistra / a destra – Turn left / right.

Common Mistakes

A frequent error is mixing up masculine and feminine nouns with directions. Remember: la stazione (feminine) uses la, while il treno (masculine) uses il.
