Key Vocabulary Rules
Most furniture nouns have a specific gender. For example, il divano (the sofa) is masculine, while la poltrona (the armchair) is feminine.
Common Mistakes
Be careful not to mix up masculine and feminine articles! Always learn the noun together with its article (il, la, lo, l').
- Correct: Il frigorifero è nuovo. (The refrigerator is new.)
- Incorrect: La frigorifero è nuovo.
