Welcome to the Fitting Room!
Shopping in Italy is a wonderful experience, but you need the right vocabulary to find what you are looking for. In this lesson, you will learn how to ask for sizes, colors, and politely inquire if a garment fits you.
Asking for Sizes and Colors
- Che taglia porta? - What size do you wear?
- Avete questo in un'altra taglia? - Do you have this in another size?
- È troppo stretto / largo. - It is too tight / loose.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Remember that adjectives describing clothes must agree in gender and number with the noun! For example, la camicia è stretta (the shirt is tight) uses the feminine form.
