Welcome to your Unit 2 Review! In this lesson, we consolidate the vocabulary related to health, the human body, and well-being, while fine-tuning our use of modal verbs (dovere, potere, volere).

Modal Verbs with Health

When discussing symptoms, medical appointments, and prescriptions, modal verbs are indispensable:

• Dovere (must/have to): Devo prendere questa medicina. (I have to take this medicine.)
• Potere (can/may): Non posso camminare molto. (I cannot walk much.)
• Volere (to want): Voglio prenotare una visita. (I want to book a check-up.)

Common Health Vocabulary

Make sure you can comfortably discuss physical sensations and medical advice:

• La febbre (fever)
• Il mal di testa (headache)
• La ricetta (prescription)

Common Mistakes

Mistake: *Devo a prendere la medicina.*
Correction: Devo prendere la medicina. (Modal verbs are followed directly by the infinitive without prepositions like 'a' or 'di'.)
