Environment and Weather Review
Welcome to your A2 environmental review! In this lesson, we will consolidate how to describe regional climates, nature, and current environmental topics in Italian.
Describing Climates and Regions
When talking about what the weather is usually like in a region, use the verb essere (to be) or fare (to make/do) with weather expressions.
- Il clima è mite. (The climate is mild.)
- Fa molto caldo in estate. (It is very hot in summer.)
Environmental Vocabulary
To discuss nature and the environment, you need nouns like la natura (nature), il bosco (the woods), and l'inquinamento (pollution). Remember that Italian nouns have grammatical genders, so pay attention to articles like il, la, or l'.
Common Mistakes
Don't say: Il tempo è caldo when you mean the climate in general; use Il clima for long-term regional patterns.
