Unit 8 Review: Hobbies, Weather & Plans
Welcome to the Unit 8 Review! In this lesson, we will consolidate key vocabulary and structures for talking about what you like to do in your free time, describing the weather, and making plans with friends.
1. Hobbies & Free Time
To talk about hobbies, we use verbs like giocare (to play - for sports) and fare (to do/make):
- Gioco a calcio - I play soccer
- Faccio sport - I do sports
2. Weather (Il tempo)
We often use fa (it makes) or c'è (there is) to describe the weather:
- Fa caldo - It is hot
- C'è il sole - It is sunny
3. Making Plans
To invite someone to do something, use Ti va di... (Would you like to...):
- Ti va di giocare a tennis? - Would you like to play tennis?
Common Mistakes
Remember that giocare requires the preposition a before sports (e.g., giocare a tennis), while fare does not.
