Unit 6 Review: Home & Accommodation
Welcome to the Unit 6 Review! Let's practice everything you have learned about rooms, furniture, colors, and how adjectives agree in gender and number with nouns.
1. Rooms & Furniture
Remember that rooms have articles, like la cucina (the kitchen) or la camera da letto (the bedroom). Furniture items like il letto (the bed) and il divano (the sofa) are masculine.
2. Adjective Agreement
In Italian, adjectives must match the gender (masculine/feminine) and number (singular/plural) of the noun they describe:
- Masculine singular: il divano rosso (the red sofa)
- Feminine singular: la sedia rossa (the red chair)
- Masculine plural: i divani rossi (the red sofas)
- Feminine plural: le sedie rosse (the red chairs)
Common Mistakes
Don't forget to change the ending of colors! Do not say la sedia rosso; always match the feminine noun with rossa.
