Common Mistakes

Don't say: *Ascolto alla radio* to mean "I listen to the radio" (literal translation of "to").
Do say: Ascolto la radio (the radio is the direct object). Use alla radio for what you hear on it: L'ho sentito alla radio (I heard it on the radio). Also, remember that notizia means news item, while notiziario refers to the newscast itself.
