Review: Daily Life & Routine
Welcome to Unit 12! In this lesson, we bring together everything you've learned about daily routines, time, and hobbies. You will practice talking about what you do every day, when you do it, and what you like to do in your free time.
1. Reflexive Verbs for Daily Routines
Actions you do to yourself use reflexive pronouns (mi, ti, si, ci, vi, si).
- Mi sveglio alle sette. (I wake up at seven.)
- Si alza tardi. (He/She gets up late.)
2. Expressing Time
Use alle + hour for specific times, and di + time of day for general times.
- Vado a letto alle dieci. (I go to bed at ten o'clock.)
- Studio la sera. (I study in the evening.)
3. Hobbies and Free Time
Use mi piace (I like) or gioco a (I play) for sports and games.
- Nel tempo libero, ascolto la musica. (In my free time, I listen to music.)
- Gioco a tennis il sabato. (I play tennis on Saturdays.)
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Don't forget the reflexive pronoun! Say mi lavo (I wash myself), not just lavo when talking about your daily routine.
