Review: Introductions & People

Review: Introductions & People

Welcome to your graduation review for Unit 12! In this lesson, we will combine everything you have learned about greeting people, counting numbers, and talking about your family.

1. Greetings & Introductions

When meeting someone, use friendly greetings like Buongiorno (Good morning) or Ciao (Hello/Hi). To introduce yourself, use Mi chiamo... (My name is...).

2. Numbers

Numbers help us talk about age and quantity. For example, uno (one), due (two), tre (three).

3. Family Members

Talk about your relatives using possessive adjectives. Remember that masculine singular nouns usually take il or mio, while feminine singular nouns take la or mia.

  • la mia famiglia - my family
  • mio padre - my father
  • mia madre - my mother

Common Mistakes

Don't confuse madre (mother) with padre (father), and pay attention to gender endings (-o vs -a).
