Unit 3 Review: Daily Routine & Essentials
Welcome to the Unit 3 Review! Let's refresh our memory on how to talk about your daily life in Italian.
1. Telling Time
To ask what time it is, say Che ore sono? To answer, use Sono le... (It is... o'clock) for most hours, or È l'una for 1:00.
2. Days of the Week
Days in Italian are not capitalized: lunedì (Monday), martedì (Tuesday), mercoledì (Wednesday), giovedì (Thursday), venerdì (Friday), sabato (Saturday), and domenica (Sunday).
3. Regular -ARE Verbs
Verbs ending in -are follow a standard pattern. For example, parlare (to speak):
- io parlo (I speak)
- tu parli (you speak)
- lui/lei parla (he/she speaks)
- noi parliamo (we speak)
- voi parlate (you all speak)
- loro parlano (they speak)
Common Mistake: Don't forget that days usually take the article when talking about habits, e.g., il lunedì (on Mondays).
